ActiveShield runs in background to protect your computer from viruses that can arrive in email or through other file transfer methods (For example, floppy disk, CD, instant messaging). It helps to prevent a virus, worm, or spyware from infecting your computer.

VirusScan is used to scan a drive, folder, or file for viruses, worms, and spyware. You configure the scan location, the options used while doing the scan, and what actions are taken if viruses, worms, or spyware are found. VirusScan removes viruses, worms, and spyware that have infected your computer.

Virus Guard helps protect your computer from viruses, worms, and spyware that can severely degrade performance and compromise your personal information.

You must activate McAfee Virus Guard before you can use it. McAfee Virus Guard is not automatically activated when you install Verizon Online with MSN Premium.
